Large Document Set Exploration – Expert Group Meeting

The third SwissNLP meeting has begun with a presentation “Intro to DataBooster” by Melanie Geiger, data innovation alliance, and Natalia Korchagina, PwC Switzerland. Databooster is the new innovation programm of data innovation alliance. This programs aims to make Switzerland an internationally recognized hub for data-driven value creation. It is to be achieved by nourishing knowledge exchange between the players in 4 key areas:

  • Industry 4.0,
  • Smart Service Concepts,
  • Language-based human-machine interaction,
  • Spatial Data Analytics.

The biggest interest for SwissNLP community poses the Language-based human-machine interaction key field. Monitor our website in order to see the news on the progressing of the programm and organized events.

After the first presentation the word was passed to Mark Cieliebak, ZHAW, who presented “Intro to Large Document Set Exploration“. Possible data formats as well as existing approaches to Large Document Set Exploration were discussed.

The meeting was finished with Philipp Thomann, D-One, presenting System by D-One. The Framework is called NLPeasy and is meant to support Data Scientist (also without deep knowledge of NLP) in providing solutions for some Text Analytics tasks (e.g., Regex-based tagging, Named Entity Recognition, Sentiment Analysis etc.). NLPeasy offers an easy start in Text Analytics and is open source.
